In Under Ten Minutes: LFW Favorites Vol 1

If you're wondering if cricket vests are a thing, they are. Friday, London Fashion Week officially launched. And while we're sad to bid NYFW goodbye, we dry our tears on the wacky wearable-ness that is London. The style of the shows directly embodies the cities aesthetic; high caliber, eclectic and perfectly attuned to not only what the people want but what they didn't even realize they wanted.

But what exactly do they want?

According to Daks London, its color and pattern. Rusted hues, marble print trousers and dresses, diamond relief blouses and pops of teal. The rust of the season translated nicely into a suede trench coat, patch pocketed skirt and a belted top with a plunging neckline. The lineup ventured successfully from the fabrics of the roaring twenties to the reproduction of soft seventies quirk.

For TopShop Unique, it was all about coveting the latest and greatest trends. Leather trousers, fur trimmed heels, structured yet oversized tuxedo jackets and chiffon dresses galore. Creative director, Kate Phelan, pictured English garden party attendees; tossing simple cardigans over their satin blouses and pushing back tousled hair to reveal dangling gemstone earrings. The designers hold the power to make a connection with the right audience. With these pieces being attainable, functional and laid back, modern muses will be sure to eat it up (with Earl Gray and Chelsea buns in mind)

There are no canned potato chips or kilts involved in Massimo Nicosia's Pringle of Scotland show. Instead of salty fingertips (take that how you want to) the vibe was all about detail. Simple in shape, but elaborate in design, sleeves were elongated, city shorts were crocheted with laser cuts and sweaters were cut deep while covered with contrasting, intricate textures. Throughout, there existed an air of femininity in silk palazzo pants and delicate meshes, contrasting against the ease of sportswears wearability

Sex sells at David Koma. Obsessed with defining the female physique, the collection featured cinching belts and leg baring bodycon dresses ideal for a girls night out. There was no shortage of zippers, flare cuts and surprisingly, a bit of ruffles (as the Man Repeller said, they are still here) The overall theme was executed in neutrals like cream, black and white. Although overall sexiness existed in each piece, the lot was more youthful than previous collections.
