This just in: Queen Bey Has Launched A Fitness Line

Yes, you read that right. Beyonce, your dancing Queen sans Abba has released a fitness line titled Ivy Park after her daughter Blue and possibly after every recreational playground in America. The best thing is, this is not a collaborative line. It's actually bey-riginal and will be sold in stores like Nordstrom, Net-a-porter and Topshop. As to what the designs will look like? Obviously athleisure with flawless qualities. (Ha-ha. Did you catch that? Of course you did)

The collection will feature over 200 (yes, 200!) pieces of sportswear including clothing, footwear and accessories. So, what will it bey? Will your forgotten New Years resolution resurface now? It drops April 14th which gives you more than enough time to juice cleanse so you can wear a unitard with no tights, in public, without shame.

Fashion Month is Long Over, so What do We Wear?

Zara is Too Good Right Now

It's so, so frustrating when you want every item out of a single store. It's like putting your eggs (money) into one basket (aesthetic)

But what if that basket has such variety, you forget you just bought something from it three days ago? What if that basket is so genius, you get chills when you watch their Spring campaign video? Well, damn you basket. And damn you, Zara. I can't stop purchasing your clothing!

Mass-adoration for one particular destination makes me uncomfortable. Not because I'm stingy (well, not exactly) but because the chances of others wearing the exact same ensemble rise to about eighty percent. Zara has caused instant water cooler talk between women and men of all ages, styles and class. And for good reason; the wildly popular store features pieces that emulate current collections for a fraction of the price while keeping quality reasonable.

And with that, I am addicted.

It started out slowly; buying bits and pieces here and there. I thought I had it under control until I browsed through my clothing rack. There were so many pieces existing in between the designer brands I had saved up for. I vowed to calm down (and to delete the app off of my Iphone) When I heard a friend talking about the new Spring collection, I just HAD to look. I had to.

This brings me to the main point of this post. Zara is fantastic. Zara is affordable. Zara has some amazing pieces right now and I mean literally, every single piece is a must-have. It's so good it's frustrating.

For example, the high heel leather lace-up sandals with fringe detail. Why so cute?

And then, the embroidered clutch. Perfect for a beach trip. Perfect for a night out in a jumpsuit (when you need free hands because you can't double fist lemon drops with a tote)

And then! AND THEN! This open back top with belled sleeves. It's literally killing me.

What items are you craving from Zara right now? All of them? Me too.

The Dialogue: Lauren Caruso of Allure Magazine

Spoiler Alert: The completely fascinating people that hold some of our dream jobs are actual human beings, that drink tea, get brunch and take vacations to the beach. In a quest to dig deeper and get to know some of the talented babes from Instagram, magazines and popular blogs, I ask the big questions and the silly questions. This week (previously it was Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes) it's time to chat with the Senior Digital Editor at Allure Magazine, Lauren Caruso. Be prepared to fall in love with her Instagram account; she's the queen of white backdrops, dainty jewels & oversized pants.

 - Name and Occupation: Lauren Caruso, senior digital editor

 - Where are you based and why do you love it? I live in the West Village of NYC, and it's like a small town within a huge city. My favorite coffee shop, Chalait, is right on the corner, and there are tons of stores and restaurants within walking distance. It's almost dangerous.

- What's the best thing about your job? Because I have my hand in everything from top-level digital strategy to the daily content lineup, no two days are ever the same! Sometimes, I'll spend all day on a photo or video shoot, and other days I'm meeting with other editors to collaborate on a big project, and others I'm just writing and editing all day.

- What's the hardest thing about your job? Figuring out what the internet wants, and delivering it consistently, in the Allure voice. It's an everyday challenge, but I love it.

- How did you get your start in the beauty industry? I was always very into fashion, and beauty was kind of my side-hustle. When I started at Refinery29 as a market writer in 2012, one of the beauty editors left, and they were in a bind for some additional beauty stories. I volunteered, and it just grew from there. Then, when I was promoted to Contributor Network Editor in 2013, I took on a lot of beauty-centric contributors like Renee Rouleau and Kyle White, so my move to Allure just made sense.

- What do you consider your 'big break' when it comes to your career? I'm not sure if I've had one yet!

- What's your signature drink? An old fashioned.

- It's Saturday morning. Where can we find you? Probably grabbing brunch with my best friend Alyssa (@alyssainthecity)

- What are your favorite Instagram accounts? It's forever iterating, but right now I'm obsessed with @articlegoods, @thearrivalsnyc, @ohkworld, @cuyana, @shopundone, @3x1, and all of the Aussie brands, like @cmeocollective, @thefifthlabel, @tylr_aus, and @keepsakethelabel.

- How would you describe your personal style? Minimalistic, for sure.

- Heels or flats? Flats, always! More specifically: sneakers.

- Favorite brand? Don't think I could ever name just one, but I'm very into everything The Arrivals is doing right now. I love Tictail for discovering new brands, and I'll never get sick of 3x1 for denim, Duo NYC for jeans, or Frankie Shop for everything.

- Which luxury item will you always splurge on? Coats!

- Before bed beauty routine? Oh goodness, this one's a doozy. My night time skincare routine takes a solid 20-30 minutes (even the short version takes 15), but before I even start that, I throw on some hot water for a cup of tea. Then, after I take my makeup off with Simple Micellar Water, I throw on a mask for 10-15 minutes, catch up on a couple articles I've had bookmarked, and then finish up once the mask is off. I always like to finish up my night by looking at a book or magazine, rather than a screen.

- Favorite piece of advice you've ever received? Never, ever say—or even think—the words, "That's not in my job description." It's up to you to be forever expanding your job description, especially if you're in a creative industry. Everyone in NYC is overworked and underpaid, and if that's your excuse for staying inside your allotted creative box, then you're setting yourself up to fail.

Moodboard Of The Week

Sometimes my mind is too clouded to come up with anything new. There's a lot going on right now; from a new job to packing up my entire life to move into the city. Where my own words fail, photos, art and movies take its place. Here are some images that keep me up at night and filled to the brim with inspiration; so much that I misplace it by the time I wake up.

"2 A.M. THE HEAT, THE DUST, THE CIGAR SMOKE, AND THE SMELL OF BODIES MAKE THE AIR UNBREATHABLE. I GO OUT STAGGERING, AND BREATHE IN THE FRESH AIR WITH DELIGHT. I LIKE THE NIGHT AND THE SKY BETTER THAN THE GODS OF MEN."

What Nancy Reagan Taught Us About Style

For the woman who redefined the role of the First Lady

Influential and ultimately stylish, Nancy Reagan, the wife of the 40th president of the united states, passed in her home on Sunday at the age of 94. Mrs. Reagan was a political figure in her own right and an American style icon. In the eighties, Reagan took advantage of the blooming field of American designers, bringing glamour to the White House without mixing with her political acumen. She was an avid reader of WWD and an enthusiast for designers Geoffrey Beene, Carolina Herrera  James Galanos and Bill Blass. She wasn't only fighting for fashion, though, she was also fighting for the power of institution, the mentally ill and her husbands honor.

Catherine Fenton, former assistant social secretary to Nancy Reagan, said in a CNN interview, “She had a great finesse. She did come from Hollywood, and she had a great eye. We all, as young women, learned so much from her — the taste, the style, the protocol, creating an elegant, warm evening, whether it was for a small private group of friends or a state dinner,” Fenton said. “She did it very well, and she worked hard to make things just as perfect as possible. So we will miss her. She was remarkable.” (WWD

But what did she show us all about style?

  1. Grace and dignity are key.
  2. You can be a powerful woman with a powerful wardrobe
  3. Black chiffon skirts are always a yes (no matter the occasion)
  4. White satin looks best when overlaid with beaded lace.
  5. Breton hats that match your dress is still a thing. And if it's not, it should be.
  6. Never dress down for an occasion that encourages dressing up.
  7. The more beads the better.
  8. Shirtwaist dresses are a classic.
  9. Remember: polka dots, florals and plaids.
  10. Simple silhouettes pair well with large shoulders.
  11. Pussybow blouses, pussybow blouses and more pussybow blouses.
  12. If you're on the hunt for a signature color, try Reagan Red.
  13. Make sure your style is so good, an exhibit is named after it.
  14. Strip the platitude of woman-behind-the-man with your own beliefs, thoughts and personal style. Cause you don't need no man.
  15. Forget age and the 'supposed to's' of today. Wear your arms out. Expose your shoulders.
  16. If you feel like adding pearls, add them. If you don't, don't.

RIP Nancy Reagan

What They Were Wearing : Milan Fashion Week

Milan has longtime been called, "One of the most influential fashion capitals of the world." Similar to the coveted French way of dressing, there's a particular personal style sense that comes with Italian dressing. But unlike the French way (minimal, effortless, more simple than embellished) Milan streetstyle stars are the total opposite. More color. More stylized approaches. More patterns and fabrics. Much more daring. It's not surprising, though, that brands like more-enthusiast Gucci and Versace were born there. Nothing is too much on these streets and thus no more words are needed. View a slideshow of the best Milan looks in the gallery above and some extras below. Prepare to swoon.
