Paris Fashion Week : Designers you need to know

Paris Fashion week designers

We all have heard of Chloe. We all have heard of Lanvin and Balmain and Rick Owens. (btw, do I even dare to discuss the human backpacks? No? Okay, sounds good) But there are designers out there uprooting the soil. Although not unknown to everyone and definitely not brand new, there are a few top notch designers that deserve more than a, "Who is that, The Row?"

Talbot Runhof

With Italian socialite Marella Agnelli the main subject of inspiration, Adrian Runhof and Johnny Talbort composed a breezy and balanced collection revolving around the idea of relaxed elegance. How is that achieved? Through floor grazing caftans, billowing tunics, satin slippers and loose fitting pants. Each piece had detail that obviously took copious amounts of time (sequins were knitted into linen and coated with delicate lace) but the construction exuded a carefree disposition.

Bouchra Jarrar

Bouchra Jarrar began her career assisting Nicolas Ghesquiere at Balenciaga and then Christian Lacroix, so she is not a designer without experience. With her mission statement being to add an extra umph to the modern woman's everyday staples, she specializes in sleek shapes, meticulous cuts and luxurious tailoring. Ultimate softness existed in a denim pantsuit, a navy viscose trench and shrunken leather jacket in rich caramel. Would you wear patent shoulder straps? Because i'd wear patent shoulder straps.

Barbara Bui

Fringe, leather and skin made up most of Barbara Bui's Spring collection. White blazers and Bermuda shorts fell away from their preppy inclinations when paired with a brown leather cropped top. That's right. A brown. Leather. Crop. Top. The collection varied from tailored urbanite (city shorts & rompers, wrapped leggings and loads of leather) to a South American explorer (fringed ponchos and eggplant colored suede) The no fuss sex appeal is sure to lure the ladies in and take them on a trip.
