You may be one. You may know one. Maybe you never realized how you shop until this very moment. |
The Bargain Hunter
You're strolling mindlessly down the street when you hear a PING on your iPhone. You check your email and pause when the bold letters flash across the screen. SALE EXTENDED + EXTRA 40% OFF EVERYTHING! You nearly drop your Skinny Venti Vanilla latte but you don't because you're "cleansing" and you need this breakfast. (This may be about me. But it may not) Whether it's coupon clippings for Whole Foods or online promo codes for Matches Fashion, you hunt down the deals with such an intense, protracted stare people step out of the way when they see you storming over. You find the absolute lowest prices for the best things even if it means buying three sweaters to get one twenty percent off.
The Trend Chaser
In the middle of the night, you awaken with the sudden need to pee and then you slide back under the blankets only to reach for your phone and scroll through Instagram until you feel sleepy again. But you're not just enjoying photos of skylines, beauty product flatlays or espresso art, no, you are clicking the images to see where that Parisian Girl bought her super Parisian flats. Bff jackets, fur-trimmed Gucci loafers, THE Chloe bag, whenever a new trend is spotted you're all on that. Actually, you probably camped outside your local H&M for the Balmain Release (and walked out with too many bags to count)
The Need-Based Shopper
An issue is weighing on your mind.
It's been heavy for a while now.
You need white socks. So you get into your car, you go into Hanes and you buy a pack of fresh white socks. When you need something, you buy it. When you don't, you don't. But really, what is 'need' and what is 'want'? The lines have a tendency to blur. If you've aced this then you're a champ. A practical champ.
The I'm-Happy-Need-More-Mules Shopper
Feelings and emotions, rather than price, fuel your investment decisions. Buzzing with inspiration from the props and costumes in the last style-driven movie you found at Redbox? Then this coat and this dress are not just whispering in your ear, they are screaming that you will resemble Adaline Bowman in the best way possible. Broke up with your best friend? Well, funny, these jeans are the friend you never knew you didn't have. So maybe you have seventeen pairs of jeans. THESE are different. These jeans have a frayed, fringed hem. And besides, you needed a pick-me-up, anyway.
So...What kind of shopper are you?
